My husband and I received this grill, as a gift, from my brother-in-law. Our experience with this grill was great until it came time to replace the usual parts for it. It has loads of space, for such a compact unit, as the cover is rounded. This makes it very versatile (you can grill a whole chicken on it). It’s rugged. Unlike many grills, the actual grilling area may rust and corrode over time, but this one has not. The bars are nice and wide (and flat), too, which makes it easier to clean. It is very mobile and easy to use. However, as with any grill, there are certain parts that need to be replaced due to regular maintenance and use. One of the regularly replaced parts is the burner. As I found, it requires ceramic briquets, as well! I contacted Char-Broil directly(whose customer service was very efficient and as helpful as possible, under the circumstances), and was “told” that I cannot get parts, through them, because the grill is pre-2003. That is only four-years old. I expect a grill to last more than four years (the grill was in brand-new condition, when we received it last summer). In my opinion, Char-Broil doesn’t (expect a grill to last more than four years), if they are not (by their own admission) carrying parts for a Patio Caddie over that age. If parts are this difficult to find, already, what’s going to happen as it gets older(if I decide to keep it, at all, after this series of inconvenient necessities)? I can’t get parts from ANY of the local hardware stores or department stores (most of which have been less than helpful). My next grill purchase will definitely not be a Char-Broil, which is too bad, as my husband and I really liked this little grill-up to this point.
