We bought the Smoky Joe because we wanted a small, inexpensive grill. We have had it now for over two years and have used it once or twice a week from spring through fall.

It cooks quite well. It doesn’t use much charcoal, which makes it quick and easy to get started. It provides enough space to be able to use it for direct and indirect cooking. The lid and variable air intake allow you to manage the amount of heat and smoke somewhat. It is portable, and we have taken advantage of that as well.

What else is their to say? For less than $30 we got a grill which we use almost exclusively. (We have a full size Weber grill for use when there are more than two of us.) We have never had a bad cooking experience and have grilled all kinds of meat and vegetables on it. In the summer it’s just as easy to use as the oven and it doesn’t get the kitchen hot. It’s great.
