As a condo dweller, I am not allowed charcoal or propane grills on either of my two decks. This was definitely a drawback when buying the place. About 6 months into living here I had purchased a Foreman standup grill and it worked great. I thought to myself, electric grilling ain’t so bad, I wonder if they sell nicer ones?

Behold the Kenmore 15283 Electric Grill. It looks awesome. Like a real grill with side shelves and under storage, this thing had it all! So, off I went to Sears to purchase the grill.

I came home put it together and was ready to start grilling on my new electric grill. I read warnings about flare ups and fires - that got me excited! This thing must be an animal!

Nope. As it turns out, this grill just can’t get hot enough to cook food well. If you were to put a decent size burger on there, you’re looking at 15 minutes minimum. Chicken? Forget it. I had to bring it inside and finish on the stove to make sure I didn’t kill anyone.

Alas, the grill now sits on my deck, never to be used again. I’m trying to figure out how to sell it! I purchased a new Foreman standup on Amazon just yesterday and I can’t wait to go back to grilling outside.

I only wish there had been a review before I purchased mine. I hope this saved you some money.
