The Thermos charcoal grill is not the fanciest one you can buy…but it is great for the casual cookout chef. The unit has adjustable air vents on top and bottom along with a solid cooking surface. That’s about all a charcoal grill consists of and are the main components of cooking.

The metal is strong and should last a reasonable long time. Any grill will eventually become worn and require replacement. I’d prefer tossing out a lower price unit than having to part with an expensive kettle.

The ash catcher is handy and actually works…unlike other types with a flat pan suspended under the coals. The Thermos ash catcher slides out and holds all the debris without spill.

The wheels are light plastic, as are most kettle style grill wheels. But then, the grill will probably not have much road use, so as long as the wheels hold the unit steady while in place, they will probably last longer than the grill itself.

You can’t beat the price, as I picked up one for less than $45 on our local online advertising site. The bottom rack can hold a bag of charcoal and supplies…a nice touch.

The temperature gauge is a handy addition for anyone who hates to guess about the right cooking temp.

Assembly is very easy and can pretty much be done by looking at the box. Of course, instructions are included for those who feel obligated in reading actual manufacturing

brochures.
