I recently purchased the VCS5017 directly from CFM and took it home. I have read many reviews on this item (all mixed). This bbq is great, when you purchase this bbq from an authorized dealer (not Home Depot) you will get a completely different model from the one sold at Home Depot. The stainless steel is of a higher grade and all the components seem to be a much better quality. I know this because I ended up going to Home Depot to see what the bbq looked like prior to purchasing it from CFM.

The lid is heavy, but the cast iron end caps are definitely a plus for heat retention. I have already used the rotisserie twice and I can’t get over how easy it is to use and how great the food tastes. I am 100% satisfied with this grill and the fact that the bbq comes with a lifetime warranty on the stainless steel, cast iron end caps, cooking grates. It also has a 10 year warranty on burners and porcelain parts. And finally a 5 year warranty on all remaining parts except the rotisserie (1 year warranty). This bbq is definitely made to last.
